I live outside Danbury these days but for all my years growing up in Danbury, living there or in the vicinity, I think of Tortilla Flats. I know some people may not think it's the greatest food but going back over decades of experiences, it has always been a comfortable place with good to very good Mexican food, and a fun place to knock back a few Dos Equis or margaritas. I haven't been there in over a year but assume it's still kicking and I look forward to another visit. Another great place is the Hungarian restaurant called Goulash Place on Highland Avenue. Small, and excellent authentic Hungarian meals. Went there last year for lunch with my wife and we enjoyed it as much as numerous visits back in the day.
I agree with Kyle Mo - La Zingara is the best dining experience all around that I've had since living in the Danbury area: food, service, atmosphere, wine list, well worth the price.
For something more casual, we love House of Yoshida, The Sesame Seed, and Bluu.
Thought I might share - being a member of the group and it's targeted for small businesses!(I'ts a bit self-serving --- I'm running it.)
