Danbury Mayor Mark D. Boughton is pleased to announce that Danbury has received A.R.R.A. funding to weatherize low income homes in the Danbury area. As a result local contractors will be looking for qualified workers to assist with this large project.
Mayor Boughton encourages those interested in pursuing a career in the weatherization construction field, which includes insulation, installers, and technicians, to take part in a job orientation session held by the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board.
Mayor Mark Boughton explained, "This job orientation session is a great opportunity for many individuals who are currently looking for jobs in today's difficult economy."
The orientation session will be conducted on December 16, 2009 at the Department of Labor, 152 West Street, Danbury, CT. Participants will hear more about the requirements for entry into training programs at the orientation session, beginning at 10 a.m. Interested individuals must call the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board at 203-574-6971 ext. 459 to register, as seating is limited.
If you have any questions please contact Alicia Thompson of the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board at (203) 574-6971 ext. 459.
